Lake Mungo & Darling River Run (Wentworth to Burke)

21-29 April 2018

Maximum Vehicles: 5 vehicles plus leader

Accommodation: Swags/tents, camper trailers, heavy duty caravans (single axle preferred)

Meet at: Car park,  corner Main North Rd & Saints Rd, Salisbury Plain

Time: 8.00am for 8.30am start

Distance/Terrain: 2600km; dirt roads, corrugation

Degree of Difficulty: Novice, basic

Restrictions: All vehicles must be high clearance and have low range, be fitted with rated recovery points, front and rear, and carry recovery equipment. Vehicles should have a fuel range of at least 500km. Because we will be camping in a National Park, no firearms or pets allowed.

Notes:

  • Bring recovery gear, high clearance, low range, recovery points front and rear.
  • Road conditions will vary from bitumen to rough, corrugated bush tracks.
  • This trip will suit novice to basic skill levels.
  • This trip may be suitable for genuine heavy duty off road (not off highway), high ground clearance, pop top caravans. Single axle would be best. Swags, tents and camper trailers all OK.
  • There will be bush camping where possible, camping in National Parks and some caravan parks.
  • Permit requirements will be advised at a later date and there will be a guided tour of Lake Mungo; price to be advised.
    We will eat out on several occasions.
